In alignment with the national directive and the Government of Mizoram’s Office Memorandum regarding the “Observance of Swachhata i Seva 2026 (SHS 2026)”, the NSS Unit of Govt. Champhai College organized a voluntary mass cleanliness drive on the 1st of October 2026. This event was conducted to actively participate in Swachhata Hi Seva 2026, an initiative observed across the country from the 17th of September to the 2nd of October 2026, culminating in Swachh Bharat Diwas.
The college’s event was specifically held to fulfill the nationwide “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” voluntary mass cleanliness drive mandate. The activities were guided by this year’s official campaign theme, “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag; Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat,” which seeks to strengthen cleanliness as a shared societal responsibility.
Under the dedicated guidance of the NSS Unit, students, volunteers, and staff participated in a comprehensive cleaning of the entire college campus and its buildings. The collective effort resulted in a significantly cleaner and more hygienic environment, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to the Whole-of-Society approach championed by the campaign.
